Hey! So Glad You're Here.
Educating Early was developed by a special education teacher/BCBA with contributions from 2 speech and language pathologists who work directly with preschoolers who have special needs. EE was designed to provide parents and educators of young children with resources to support social skills and behavior at home and in a school based setting.
I am a mother of 2 young children, a credentialed early childhood special education teacher, and board certified behavior analyst. My background has provided me the opportunity to work directly with children with and without special needs as well as provide coaching and training on evidence-based practices to teachers, paraeducators, and parents of children with special needs.
Although I have a background in education and behavior, parenting and teaching is still so tough! It's a struggle to be consistent and at times just figure out the right way to parent and teach each child in a way that works for them. Just know, you are not on this journey alone.
Our goal is to provide families and educators resources to support your child or student at home and at school. We hope that you will find the information on this site to be helpful and applicable to your specific situation. All children are different and the strategies on this site should be tailored to the individual needs of your child or student. Strategies discussed here do not replace individualized supports or plans for a child.
As a parent and an educator I have learned there is always more to learn! I am looking forward to collaborating with all of you!
